Railway Granite Rail Track Ballast is a 32/50mm Granite and supplied to Network Rail approved specification NR/L2/TRK/8100 (previously EN13450) RT/CE/S/006.
Rail Ballast is not sold by colour, this can vary from light grey, pink grey to dark grey.
Available, loose bulk, Bulk bags, Dumpy Bags & Small Bags.

Drainage Shingle / Gravel can come in many sizes—the three main sizes for the Rail Industry are (these are all sold by specification and not colour):
10mm Single Size—4/10mm grading
14mm Single Size—6/14mm grading
20mm Single Size—10/20mm grading
Also available for drainage is Type B 40mm Shingle—20/40mm grading

Other Aggregates We Supply to Network Rail

Type 1 Granite is a granular, well graded material sized from 40mm to dust, but with most of the material sized at a 32mm to dust.
Type 1 SHW Clause 803 (formerly MOT Type 1) is widely used as a subbase in the construction of roads, rail, car parks & pathways.
Stable & Durable, the varying particle sizes interlock to distribute weight evenly & prevent settlement. Easy to compact.

BULK BAG
Network Rail approved 6:1 SF discharge spout bags
approx. 1 tonne per bag Lifting loop in each corner


500kg TUNNEL LIFT BAGS
These bags were specifically made up for Network Rail to enable them to fit onto their specialist trains.
There is a lifting loop in each corner along with a tunnel lift (also known as bunny ears or elephant ears) sleeves for additional lifting options

DUMPY BAG
Standard Builder Merchant type bag, 5:1SF flat bottomed bag approx. 800kg per bag
Lifting loop in each corner

CUBIC METER BAG
M3 – Specialist larger FIBC to hold larger volumes, 5:1SF
Flat bottomed bags with lifting loop in each corner – certified 1000kg

SKIRT TOP
Specialist Skirt Top Bag which is designed to secure the material in the bag. These are 5:1SF flat bottomed—certified to 1000 kgs
Lifting loop in each corner.

Heavy duty clear plastic carry bags—20-25kgs
